Whether you're visiting Babe's at Harbor Point for the first time or you're a local looking to explore more of what's around our neighborhood, you're in for a treat. Located at 80 N Genesee Street in the heart of Utica, we're perfectly positioned near some of the area's best attractions. Here's what you can discover within just a short drive or walk from our doors.

The Utica Comets – Hockey Right Here in Town

The Utica Comets are a professional ice hockey team based right here in Utica, playing their home games at the Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. They're the AHL affiliate of the NHL's New Jersey Devils, which means you're watching future NHL stars develop their skills right in our backyard.

Nicknamed "the Aud," it's a 3,860-seat arena that has earned some serious recognition – ranked #8 in "The 10 Coolest Hockey Rinks in the World" by Complex Magazine. The Comets' Home Opener for the 2025-26 season is set for Friday, October 10th, against the Cleveland Monsters, so mark your calendars if you want to catch some exciting hockey action.

The current team became affiliated with the New Jersey Devils starting with the 2021-22 season under a ten-year agreement. This is actually the second time the Devils have had an AHL team in Utica – the original Utica Devils played here from 1987 to 1993.

The World-Famous Boilermaker Road Race

Every July, Utica becomes the center of the running world. The Boilermaker Road Race is a 15K and 5K race held on the second Sunday in July. The 48th annual running just took place on July 13, 2025, bringing thousands of runners from around the world to our city.

The race has been described as an essential part of the identity of its host city, Utica, and has been rated highly by running publications. Runners World magazine described the Boilermaker as "part road race, part festival" due to the incredible community support and festivities that line the entire course.

Historic Union Station and Adirondack Railroad

Take the "Gateway" train from Utica's historic Union Station to Old Forge in the Adirondacks. The Adirondack Railroad offers themed excursions for wine and beer tastings, fall foliage tours, the Polar Express, and more. It's a perfect day trip that starts right here in Utica and takes you deep into the beautiful Adirondack Mountains.

Saranac Brewery – A Local Institution

The F X Matt Brewing Company is one of the oldest family-owned breweries in the nation, brewing since 1888 and famous for its award-winning Saranac brand of beers. During summer months, the brewery hosts "Saranac Thursdays" concert series for $5 entry, used as a fundraiser for the United Way of Greater Utica.

Arts and Culture Scene

The Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute features an extensive permanent collection as well as rotating exhibitions. The Stanley Center for the Arts, a former movie palace in Mexican baroque style, brings Off-Broadway shows and performers to downtown Utica as home to the Broadway Theater League of Greater Utica.

The Utica Children's Museum is housed in a beautiful historic building in downtown's Bagg's Square district, offering hands-on experiences for families with approximately 60 exhibits and experiences throughout four floors of play space.

Utica Zoo

The Utica Zoo is located in Roscoe Conkling Park and features over 200 animals on 40 acres. Its newest and most popular addition is the lion exhibit. Accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the zoo has served the region for over 99 years.
